COOLING TOWER FAN

Cooling tower fans are critical mechanical devices used in industrial process cooling and commercial HVAC systems to force or draw massive volumes of air through a cooling tower. This continuous airflow accelerates heat rejection by evaporating a small percentage of the cascading hot water.

The primary role of the fan is to maintain a steady air stream across the fill media. Hot water enters the top of the tower and gets sprayed over the fill to maximize its surface area. As the fan pulls or pushes air across this water, latent heat transfer occurs through evaporative cooling.

The cooled water settles into a collection basin at the bottom for reuse, while the fan expels the hot, humid air out into the atmosphere.
